Keller Struggling After Dinner

Shawn Keller was chip leader for most of today, but lost the lead about an hour before the dinner break, and it has only gotten worse for Keller. In the most recent hand, Mitch Schock raised the button, and Keller three bet in the small blind. Schock called, and the flop came out {7-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{3-Clubs}. Keller bet, and Schock raised. Keller called, and the turn brought the {7-Diamonds}. Keller decided to check raise on this street, but Schock wasn't scared, calling to take it to the river. That was the {a-Clubs}, and Keller check folded, conceding the pot to Schock.

We apologize for the brief delay between posts. We had some internet issues in the Amazon room, but it looks like we are back on track! A few minutes ago, Ron Burke was eliminated in 8th place. Andrew Brongo raised from the button and Burke put in three bets from the small blind. Brongo called, and they took a flop of {a-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}, and Burke bet out. Brongo called, and the turn came the {4-Diamonds}. Burke bet, and Brongo raised. Burke got the last of his chips in, and Brongo called.

Burke: {a-Diamonds}{j-Spades}
Brongo: {a-Spades}{4-Spades}

Brongo hit two pair on the turn and had Burke drawing slim to stay alive. The river came the {8-Hearts}, and Brongo scored the knockout.

Brongo Nearly Doubles Through Sterling

Matt Sterling raised from the cutoff, and Andrew Brongo reraised out of the small blind. Sterling called, and the players took a flop of {8-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}. Brongo bet, and Sterling called. The turn brought the {j-Hearts}, and Brongo bet again. Sterling raised this time, but Brongo was not deterred, as he fired back with a reraise. Sterling called, and Brongo went all in for his last 22,000 before the river was dealt. It was the {k-Clubs}, and Sterling thought for about 30 seconds before folding.

Burke Triples Up

Before the dinner break, Ron Burke's stack had dwindled down to 37,000, just over one big bet, but he has just tripled up to get himself a little breathing room. After Andrew Brongo raised, Burke put in the last of his chips. Casey McCarrel called out of the big blind, and Brongo called the raise as well. Brongo and McCarrel checked down a board of {9-Hearts}{6-Spades}{4-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}, and Brongo showed {5-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} for two pair, but Burke revealed {a-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} for a better two pair, giving him the triple up.

Sterling Starts Off Right

We are just one hand in after the dinner break, but it was a good sized one that was won by Matt Sterling. Sterling raised under the gun, and got a call from Shawn Keller and Tyler Bonkowski. The flop came out {k-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{5-Hearts}, and Bonkowski checked. Sterling bet, and Keller called. Bonkowski folded, and Sterling and Keller saw the {j-Clubs} on the turn. Sterling bet and Keller called, and the same thing happened on the river, the {8-Spades}. Sterling showed {k-Hearts}{j-Hearts}, and Keller mucked.

Dinner Is Served

After four levels of play, the players are now on a 60-minute dinner break. See you back here in an hour.

Casey’s Game Has Got It Going On

Tyler Bonkowski used some of his newfound chips to raise and Casey McCarrel three-bet from the small blind. Bonkowski called and McCarrel led out on the {10-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} flop. Bonkowski raised and McCarrel called as the players saw the {2-Spades} on the turn. McCarrel check-called Bonkowski’s bet and the action was the same on the {7-Clubs} river until McCarrel check-raised instead of just calling Bonkowski’s bet. Bonkowski called but mucked when McCarrel showed {K-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}.
